Add a virtual machine to backup

We’re back at the options screen, this time we are going to add a virtual machine to Vimalin and make our first backup.

Click on “Backup jobs” and you’ll get the following screen.

vimalin-configure-define-jobs

No virtual machines or jobs have been defined so far, so the screen is pretty empty.

Click on the “+” button that is above the schedule header. This then will let you select a virtual machine.

Vimalin will show a list of all the virtual machines (VM’s) that have been added to the library of VMware Fusion. In our example we select a VM that has a recovery partition of El Capitan and we click the Add button.

After this we are back in the “Define Backup Jobs” screen and the “Backup Now” button has become available as we have selected a virtual machine.

Let’s click that to run a backup on demand.
