Using a normal backup solution might corrupt your VMware virtual machine backup. This is because a standard backup program is not aware about virtual machines. With such a program you cannot make a backup while Virtual Machines are running. This is because they are still writing to the disk while you run the backup. As a result your backup is inconsistent and might be corrupt.

After seeing this problem many times at the VMware community forum, I decided it was time to create a solution to prevent this. Vimalin was born.

Vimalin uses VMware VIX automation to take care of your backups. The backups are taken in the background without interrupting your workflow.
